Each piece is carefully crafted by hand, then cured underwater to let nature take its course. This seals concrete from the inside, preventing moisture escaping during curing
The entire curing process takes from 1 to 3 months, depending on thickness
Natural high-gloss cure with a shine that lasts forever, without any maintenance or polishing required—a unique quality to Crete Si
Built to Last—our process is inspired by the Classical Antiquity era of ancient Greece & Rome, Italy. We use ancient methods to mold, blend and cure concrete
Materials
All materials are locally sourced, salvaged, repurposed or sourced from an environmentally-friendly supplier
Our concrete molds are either reused or crushed and put back into the concrete
Our concrete is made from a custom blend of environmentally responsible materials such as: eco-cement (powered and delivered by renewable and emission-free energy sources), salvaged waste (such as styrofoam, plastic netting, rubble and glass) and industrial byproducts (such as slag, fly ash, and silica fume)
Most of these repurposed materials are environmental hazards when released into landfills, but are inert and add strength inside concrete
Utilization of these hazardous waste materials promotes businesses to end their life-cycle safely, instead of being released into our environment through landfill runoff and/ or dissipation
Sustainability
The word for concrete translates as “grow together”—sustainable concrete means just that
Our products reflect a circular process, in harmony with nature, made to grow stronger with time as concrete absorbs air and crystalizes
We seek to bridge the current gap between consumerism and sustainability—acting to develop everlasting materials that counter the depletion of natural resources
Concrete is the #1 most used building material on the planet, by far. The global concrete industry does not typically make and acquire materials sustainably, resulting in extremely large-scale effects on our environment (EPA estimated at 8% to 10% of global CO2 emissions). We’re on a mission to change all that
Superheated limestone is the key ingredient in concrete. Naturally formed by the precipitate of ancient marine environments, limestone (calcium carbonate) makes up about 0.25% of the Earth’s crust. CreteSi unique concrete recipe achieves sustainability by minimizing the use of superheated limestone, replacing it with strengthening additives, as described here in greater detail
